From the field to the firm.
New England Developments was founded by Killingly, Connecticut native Nick Basley, whose passion for construction began long before the company itself.
At fourteen years old, Nick began working alongside his father in the construction industry, gaining hands-on experience in paving, excavation, concrete, landscaping, heavy equipment operation, and site development. Those early years instilled the values of hard work, accountability, and attention to detail — principles that continue to guide every New England Developments project today.
While earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at Bryant University, with a concentration in Economics and a minor in Finance, Nick became increasingly interested in one of the region's most significant long-term challenges: the shortage of quality housing.
By combining practical construction experience with business and financial knowledge, he founded New England Developments with a simple but ambitious vision — to build homes and communities that improve people's lives while creating lasting value for generations to come.
